The past few weeks, our theme has been Harvesting. The children had a great time "harvesting" in our sand table. They had the chance to pick our "crops" and store them for winter.
In Math, we have been studying addition with numbers 1-10. Here are the children completing addition sentences using the SMART Board. They did a great job! It is amazing how great they have all become at using the SMART technology.
In preparation for Thanksgiving, we discussed what it meant to be thankful and some of the things we are each thankful for. Some responses included our families, friends, teacher (I'm not even making this one up!), food, and houses. We wrote sentences and drew pictures of our thankful thoughts and displayed them in the hallway.
Center time fun!

Mr. D., the PE student teacher, was our surprise reader for the 40th Day of School! He read Hide and Sheep by Andrea Beaty. As always, the children were very happy and surprised!
While studying Harvesting, we painted gourds!
We're "Gourd-geous!"
To reinforce the concept of Addition, the children were introduced to Friends of Ten on the Ipads. The children explored this App individually, and then worked in pairs. It was great to see the children working together!
The children worked in pairs to create their own Addition sentences using manipulatives from our classroom.
On Thursday, November 15th, we ate lunch in the AP room with our Senior Buddies. It was so exciting for the children. After lunch, the Seniors came back to our classroom for dessert. They also spent some time reading stories and doing puzzles with the children.
On Monday, November 19th, we had our Kindergarten Thanksgiving feast. Thank you to all those who provided us with such delicious food!
The children decorated picture frames, place mats, and played "Pin the Hat on the Turkey" after our meal!
On Tuesday, November 20th, both Kindergarten classes visited Pre-K to sing a few Thanksgiving songs. It was lots of fun! Thank you to Pre-K for being such a great audience!
