On September 20th, we had our first surprise reader for the 10th day of school, Mrs. Marikakis! Mrs. Marikakis read It's Okay To Be Different by Todd Parr.
The children have enjoyed talking about Family and Friends. On Monday, we made family necklaces. The beads represented the special people in our families!
In Math, we continued our Patterning chapter. We used the SMART Board to explore different types of patterns. The children did a great job completing the patterns.
The students also enjoyed going to the Math Center during Center Time and exploring patterning manipulatives.
On Tuesday afternoon, we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
This week on the iPads, the children used the apps Teach Me:Kindergarten and Moofy Recognizing Patterns Games. These apps are a fun and interactive way to reinforce skills that we are learning.
On Tuesday, we shared our Family Tree Projects. The children were very interested to learn who was on each of their classmates trees and what objects the children had chosen to represent the members of their families.
On Thursday, we drew Friendship Drawings. The children worked in cooperative pairs to create their drawings together.
This week in the Science Center, the children explored magnetism and different magnetic objects. Through exploration, the children came to the conclusion that it was the metal objects that were attracted to the magnets!
On Friday, our "Word Wall Rockstar" Luca helped us add our new sight words to our Word Wall. Our new words are I, the, and went.
On Friday, we also celebrated Anya's 5th birthday with ice cream and jello! Happy Birthday Anya!
